As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarians during surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing surgical equipment and instruments, monitoring patients during surgery, and ensuring a sterile surgical environment. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about animal care, is detail-oriented, and works well in a team environment. Our ideal candidate must have prior experience in veterinary surgery. Experience with emergency surgeries is preferred (e.g. exploratory laparotomy, pyometra, intussusception) as well as lobectomies, fracture repairs and mass removals. Fetch provides a variety of services so candidates who are adaptable, willing to learn and enjoy working on a team will be successful in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare surgical equipment and instruments for all surgical procedures
  • Monitor patient vitals and anesthesia during surgery
  • Assist the veterinarian during surgical procedures
  • Provide post-operative care to patients
  • Maintain a sterile surgical environment
  • Keep accurate medical records
  • Follow hospital protocols and standards

Ideal Candidate

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technicians preferred
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Must have knowledge of surgical equipment and instruments
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
