Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. We are a family-owned network of emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals, committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients and supporting the teams who make it possible. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, directly impacting team member satisfaction and operational efficiency. You’ll work closely with our Finance and HR teams to manage all aspects of payroll across our multi-location organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll, including regular wages, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Audit timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with hospital directors and practice managers.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, changes in compensation, and terminations.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax withholdings and filings; support year-end tax documentation including W-2s and 1099s.
- Coordinate benefit-related deductions, including insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and paid leave.
- Respond to team member questions regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and timekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure payroll practices are compliant with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Assist in reconciling payroll-related accounts and preparing reports for Finance and HR.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested payroll data and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and team member information at all times.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in a multi-location environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll calculations.
- Proficient in payroll software, with experience with Paychex software preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple payroll cycles and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills to address team member inquiries and collaborate with the Finance and HR teams.
