Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers, a privately-owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital that offers specialized veterinary services to clients and referring veterinarians in Brandon, Florida, is seeking a skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with the triage, stabilization, and medical treatment of emergency patients under the direction of a veterinarian
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as blood work and radiographs, and interpret results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records for each patient
- Monitor patients during hospitalization and report changes in condition to the veterinary staff
- Communicate patient treatment plans and instructions to pet owners
- Provide emotional support and education to pet owners during difficult and stressful times
Ideal Candidate
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
- Previous experience as a Emergency Technician is preferred
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility with work schedule, including availability for on-call, weekend shifts ad holidays
