About the Position

Join our team at Fetch Veterinary as an Internal Medicine technician! In this crucial role, you will provide support to our internal medicine specialists in diagnosing and treating a variety of complex medical conditions. You will play a vital role in the care of our patients and be a part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional veterinary care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with various diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, ultrasounds, endoscopies and CT scans
  • Administer anesthetic medications and monitor patients under sedation and general anesthesia
  • Monitor patients undergoing treatment for a variety of acute and chronic conditions and help manage their ongoing care
  • Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
  • Organize and initiate treatment plans for patients requiring hospitalization
  • Collect and process samples for laboratory tests and properly interpret and communicate findings
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
  • Educate pet owners about their pets' medical conditions and care regimens
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, including maintaining equipment and supplies
  • Participate in creating an environment of mutual respect for patients, clients and your peers

Ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred
  • Certification as a veterinary technician is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in internal medicine or a similar veterinary setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
